4. Transaction Security Information
Why we collect this
Vehicle sales are high‑value, and card payments can be disputed months after they complete. When that happens, the burden falls on the seller and on Zoooom to show the payment was genuinely authorised. Recording a few facts at the moment of purchase is what allows a legitimate buyer or seller to be protected if someone later disputes a payment they actually made.
When you make or accept a payment through Zoooom, we record:
- The IP address you connected from, and the approximate city or region it indicates
- Basic device information (browser, operating system, screen size, time zone)
- The date and time of each step of the transaction
- The result and timestamp of your identity verification — that it was completed and passed, not the underlying documents
- The transaction itself: amount, payment method, and the vehicle it relates to
- Your precise location, only if you permit it. Your browser will ask. You can decline, and your purchase will proceed normally. We record that you were asked either way.
We do not share this in normal use
This information is not sold, not used for advertising, not used to build a profile of you, and not shared with other users. It is not disclosed in the ordinary course of using Zoooom.
There is one situation in which it is disclosed: if a payment is disputed. If you or another party disputes a charge, we provide the relevant records to our payment processor, and they in turn provide them to the card network and the issuing bank, solely to establish whether that specific transaction was authorised. Nothing beyond the disputed transaction is shared, and only the records relating to it.
We may also disclose it where the law requires, as described in How We Share Your Information.
How long we keep it
Card networks allow disputes to be raised long after a payment, and a disputed payment can take longer still to resolve. We keep transaction security information for 36 months after the transaction, and longer only where an unresolved dispute or a legal obligation requires it. It is then deleted.
Your choices
- Precise location is optional. Declining does not block a purchase or change your price.
- You can withdraw browser location permission at any time in your browser settings.
- You can ask what we hold about a transaction — see Your Privacy Rights.
5. Biometric Information
Identity Verification
For security and fraud prevention, we may collect biometric information including facial geometry from photos for identity verification purposes.

- Encrypted and securely stored
- Retained only as long as necessary
- Deleted per applicable laws
Your Rights
- Refuse to provide biometric data
- Request deletion (subject to requirements)
- Use alternative verification methods
We will never sell, rent, or trade your biometric information.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure servers and databases
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security assessments
- Employee training on data protection
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
For California Residents
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Sensitive Personal Information
California treats precise geolocation as sensitive personal information. Zoooom collects it only with your permission, only at the moment of a purchase or sale, and uses it for one purpose: verifying and defending that transaction if it is later disputed. That is a purpose the CPRA permits without a separate limitation right, because it exists to detect and prevent fraudulent activity and to protect the security of a transaction.
We do not sell it, do not share it for cross‑context behavioural advertising, and do not use it to infer anything about you. If you would rather not provide it, decline your browser’s prompt — your purchase proceeds unchanged.
Your Rights Include
- Right to Know: Request information about personal information collected and shared
- Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information
- Right to Opt-Out: Opt-out of sale or sharing of personal information
- Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate information
