How Zoooom Works
Buying and selling are the same five steps here. Whoever you are in the deal, the flow is identical: agree on a price, prove who you both are, pay through Zoooom, meet and sign the title, and confirm it’s done. The seller receives the full agreed price — every time.
The whole flow
- Agree on a price. Either side starts. A buyer makes an offer on a listing, or invites a seller to bring a car they found somewhere else. Offers and counteroffers go back and forth in the Deal Center, with messaging attached to the deal. When one is accepted, the deal is live and the price is locked.
- Both sides verify who they are. Buyer and seller each verify once with a government ID and a selfie, and both get a verified badge. Listing a car, making an offer, and accepting one are all gated behind it — so nobody in the deal is an anonymous stranger.
- The buyer pays through Zoooom. The buyer picks how to pay — card, bank wire, or cash at the handoff — and sees the exact total before confirming. The seller always receives the full agreed price; Zoooom’s flat $100 fee and the processing cost are added on top for the buyer, never deducted from the seller. What each way of paying costs ↓
- Meet and sign the title. Meet in person, look the car over one last time, hand over the keys, and sign the title over to the buyer.
- Both confirm, and it’s done. Each of you confirms the sale in the app. The car moves into the buyer’s Digital Garage with its report and service history already attached, and out of the seller’s.
What it costs
Zoooom charges one flat fee: $100, paid by the buyer. It doesn’t scale with the price of the car, and the seller is never charged. What changes between the three ways to pay is the processing cost on top — and that is passed through at cost, with no markup.
Credit or debit card
- Seller receives
- The full agreed price
- Buyer adds
- $100 + the card rate (2.9% + 30¢) + Stripe’s 1% instant-payout fee, all at cost
- Speed
- Instant — the seller is paid out right away
- Limit
- Up to $15,000 per transaction. Your own bank often caps a card far lower, commonly near $1,000 a day — that limit is your issuer’s, not ours
Bank wireCheapest
- Seller receives
- The full agreed price
- Buyer adds
- Only the $100. Zoooom covers the bank’s wire fee
- Speed
- Not instant — you send it from your own bank, on your bank’s schedule. Start it before 2 PM PT to settle the same day
- Limit
- None — this is the way to pay above $15,000
Cash at the handoff
- Seller receives
- The full agreed price, in person
- Buyer adds
- Nothing. A sale paid entirely in cash has no Zoooom fee at all
- Speed
- At the meetup
- Limit
- Any amount. You can also pay part in cash and the rest online — the $100 then rides the online part
The exact total is calculated and shown to the buyer before they confirm, so nobody is quoted one number and charged another.
What Zoooom is doing while this happens
For the buyer
- The seller’s identity is verified before you can pay them.
- A Verified Report on the VIN — title brand, flood, theft, open recalls, known issues, and maintenance history.
- Your payment is recorded with the time, device, and location it was made from, so a legitimate purchase can be proven later.
For the seller
- You receive the full agreed price, with nothing deducted for fees or processing.
- On a card payment the money is paid out instantly — no waiting on a check to clear.
- The buyer’s identity is verified before they can make an offer, so you’re not meeting a stranger from a classifieds ad.
